Granny and Grandpa

Granny and Grandpa came to see us during their quick trip to Colorado (for Abigail). The girls really loved spending time with them, and although it was a short visit, it was very sweet.

Baby sitter

Niamh loves to sit now, especially since Big Sis is so good at bringing her toys! She also likes to stand holding herself up on anything a foot or so tall, but that is a blog for another day...

Messmaker, messmaker, make me a mess

Guess what time it is

Tooth-hurty
The one on the left has almost completely cut through. The one on the right is not far behind. She gave no indication she was teething, I just happened to see the white. Do you think she'll always be this easygoing?

Grandma and Bops

I tend not to take many photos when Grandma and Bops are around, simply because I know they can jump right in with the kids, and I can take a much-needed break. This weekend Rob went to the Springs to visit our niece Abigail (who is recovering from surgery now, an answer to countless thoughts and prayers). I didn't go because I had a cold. Even though Grandma/Bops -as Kathryn calls them- had just come up the night before, I decided to go down to Lakewood for the weekend. It was so good to have the company and the help. Watching the girls by myself at home over the weekend would make for a very long couple of weeks for all of us, so I am extremely grateful. Kathryn got to do lots of art with Grandma, Niamh played the organ for the first time and best of all, I took a nap.

The girls and I went up to Sterling to celebrate cousin Lindsey graduating from NJC with her degree in cosmetology. She's a real pro, and I have some fun ideas I want her to try on my hair this summer (though maybe after our chorale performance- it's not that I don't trust her, but my vision is a bit wild.)

It was a quick trip, and much fun and cake was had by all.

A friend of ours is going to take portraits of the girls soon (which buys me time to learn how to use this camera!), but since Niamh just turned six months and Kathryn just turned three years, I figured I should take a few myself in the meantime. They loved putting on their pretty dresses and having the Mamarazzi after them, but I really do need to invest in a big black sheet for the back drop. The dining room tablecloth was less than ideal. Oh well, no pizza stains showed up in the pictures, at least as far as I can tell.

It was worth it, but after the shoot, we all felt a little like this.

Unkie Johnny

Somehow these pictures of Niamh as a newborn with Jonathan got lost in the shuffle. Aren't they precious?
