Junior officer super-girl

The kids and I went on a field trip to the local police station with our playgroup. The officer who gave us the tour was tough, funny and sported blond pigtails (sound like anyone you know?). She humored Kathryn's endless questioning and seemed to get a kick out of her curiosity. The kids were given badges and named "junior officers". I'd say an impression was made. Kathryn, for the moment at least, wants to be a cop (that and a super-girl, which she tells me is basically a person who does everything she wants to do.)

Valentine's box

Kathryn made a decopage box for her preschool valentines.

It was messy, but so worth it.

Proud moment

Since she can write her name without help, we decided it was time for her to have her very own library card. She is so excited and has already checked out several books since then.

She can write Kathryn too, but when asserting her big-girl factor, she usually sticks with Kate.

I was setting Kathryn up with art supplies nearby. Niamh was on the floor asking repeatedly to draw.

It appears I waited too long to respond, because she pulled herself onto the table, shouted "DRAW!!!" directly at me, and then proceeded to do just that.

Puppy Love

Tucker and Butters came up for a Greeley visit. They were great with the girls and vice versa.

We taught Tucker to catch, touch, ring bells, run in a circle and play fetch.

We taught Butters to be cute, but he was already pretty good at that so we can't take all the credit.

Lucky Duck

Kathryn's favorite book right now is Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? by Dr. Seuss. She has the *entire thing* memorized, but here are just a couple of excerpts to give you the idea.

p.s. help! She wants to have a borfin/pants-eating plant birthday party. What in the world?!?
