Here we are having a ton of fun with bubbles... (Okay, maybe I was a *little* more into it than she was.)

Baby in Red...
If she keeps her beautiful bright red hair, someday she might choose not to wear red much, but for now Mommy is dressing her, and Mommy says "go for it!"

Kathryn is putting anything she can get her hands on in her mouth, and that includes whatever she's wearing. We tried having Grandma (Rita) wear the background cloth to help... notice the sour look of disapproval...

We figured the photo shoot was probably over, so things got a little goofy...

Isn't this what you meant when you said I could "dress up"?

Colors and Numbers
Fuschia- Favorite color, sure to hold her attention
Hazel- Current eye color, a beautiful mix of green and brown, with flecks like Mommy's
Red- Current hair color, especially in the sun (coincidentally her face turns a similar color on car trips... she is NOT a fan)

One or two- Number of fingers she likes to suck (index/middle/Mommy's pinky), teethers are a big hit, but she's been done with the bink for months. She even loves eating books! Come to think of it, the word eating does sound a lot like the word reading.

Four- Months old- Wowsers!
Nine or Ten- Average number of hours she sleeps per night (although she wakes up a few times to eat)
Twelve and Four- Typical (short) nap times...
0 to 3- Clothing size that has joined newborn in storage... bye bye ducky outfit!

Mushy Love Poop
We had a great week and I am so encouraged. Sometimes it seems that I don't get anything (tangible) done all day, but I know that I am doing something very important when I spend time with my little girl, and I feel so lucky and blessed to be with her. I am absolutely loving being at home with her- it's the best job ever (yes, even better than working at Casa Bonita!). My friend Amy noted yesterday how much I've been smiling lately. It's true- I'm just very happy. As a recovering perfectionist and workaholic, I have redefined what it means to have a really good day.
Today I woke up two hours earlier than Kathryn and took a shower, ate breakfast, checked e-mail, and read magazines. She woke up, and just like every day, gave me a huge wide-eyed grin when she saw me. I gave her a bath and dressed her. We played with her new toys, read her favorite book, "Pat the Bunny" and worked a little on rolling over. We played together outside in the yard on a blanket. I blew bubbles for her, and we enjoyed the breeze in the shade.

She learned to nap in her crib instead of the bassinet, and I'd like to think the butterflies we painted for her helped.

Later, we took a walk to the park near our house. We hung out with Rob when he came home, and even though she has started teething and was a little fussy, it was just nice to be together as a family. Tonight she said "Ma" for the first time. Of course she didn't mean me, but it made me so excited for the day when she will.
Every night I put on soft music and sit with her in the rocker before her bedtime and think about the day... wondering how it's possible that another one has gone by already. Time goes so fast now- it really does. I feel like if I blink I'll be watching her smear frosting all over herself on her first birthday... go to kindergarten with her little back pack on... drive her first car (which Rob insists will be a stick shift)... it all just goes way too fast. Rob and I are just enjoying every moment and really loving getting to know our little daughter- she really is her own little person.
She is still a very easy baby. We have taken her to three movies, and out to eat several times without a hitch. She sits with me during church, and goes basically anywhere I go. No one has given me a hard time about nursing or changing her, and I'm actually surprised at how little my life outside the home (besides not working) has changed.
Right now, she's sleeping, but I think I'd like to go in and watch her for a while...
(By the way, the title is from a 'zine some friends made in high school... I thought it was cute.)
