The night before Kathryn turned three I hugged her goodnight extra hard and almost cried. Three is officially not a baby, and I just knew I'd wake up the next day and she'd be a different person. I have been thinking lately about how bittersweet it is as she grows. I remember back to when she was a newborn, then crawling, toddling, talking in her sweet baby voice, and it's as though these incredible little people visit us for just a little while and then leave, replaced with ones familiar, but different.
She had wild, messy hair and wanted snuggles in the morning, and so maybe, just maybe, she can be my baby a little longer (always).
