Christmas girls

This was the first year in several we did not get cards sent out. The intention was there, but in this season we are in we just weren't able to make it happen. I did manage to get a few sweet pictures of the girls though, and I hope you will enjoy them. I didn't direct these poses; this is just how they were.
so much love.

Colorado Springs Christmas

Before we headed down we had a few delightful days with Aunt Shelly and Grandma in Greeley. The girls even shared one of their favorite science shows and made some delicious homemade pizza.
In the Springs, there was so much playing and catching up.
I have no idea why they call him crazy Uncle Randy, or why they have so much fun with these two.
Come back soon guys!

Breezy the pony

During her visit this December, Aunt Shelly took Kate and Jade on a very special outing to have a riding lesson. First, they fed this guy, then it was time to meet Breezy.
They groomed her with extra care and Breezy really seemed to enjoy the attention and pampering.

Jade chose to ride in the indoor arena and did extremely well, using commands and the reins, even practicing jump position.

Kathryn chose to ride outside.
While waiting for Breezy, they met another equine friend.

Breezy was taller than Lily, the little pony she rode in CA last summer. At first Kathryn was nervous, but after a pep talk and some consideration she decided to give it a go.

She was so glad she did. She absolutely loved it and did great. She said something along the lines of wanting to ride Breezy every day for a year.
While she was riding and he was videotaping, Randy asked her who her favorite uncle is.
She answered that all of her uncles are her favorite, but that he is her favorite *crazy* uncle.

We miss and love you Nonny.
Thank you for everything you taught us and for being such a part of who we are.

We think of you every single day and look forward to a joyful reunion one day.

Summer and Fall glimpses

Since it has been a while (ahem) since I have really posted, I must say there is quite a bit of catching up to be done. Here is just an abridged look into what we have been up to over the past few months.

 Backyard camping
If only I had photos of the Perseid meteor shower- incredible! Though taken earlier, the photo below will give you an idea of their expressions. We wanted to go inside long before they did.

She can be quite particular, but here she is in one of her favorite outfits.
