Why, my sweet little tot

Kathryn still loves to "do art" every day. Some projects are pretty tricky and require a lot of guidance. How do I accomplish anything with a baby who wants to be held all day (and frankly a mom who wants to hold her all day anyway)? Our baby carriers. We have a Bjorn, which I keep in the car for shopping trips and outings, and a Moby, which I use in the house. We both love them. Kathryn is a little jealous, but I can actually carry her in the Moby too (just not at the same time of course!).
Here is a nativity we made together. Check out the sunlight!

Niamh-Eliz

...is one of her many nicknames (others include Neevy, Littles, Cutes, Buttercup, Little Miss and Neevies).

She is such a sweetheart! I love every minute with her, and I look forward to seeing her unique personality as she grows.

Here are some moments from the past couple of weeks.

She loves holding her paci.
Grins!
Can you see the dimple?
Is it just me, or does she look like a Precious Moments figurine?
Grandma, Niamh, and a Mattel photo bomb
A pumpkin from big sis

Special night, beard that's white

We heard Santa was at (of all places in the world!?!) our little local library, and since Kathryn is his biggest fan and had never seen him in person before, of course we had to go meet him.

It is a shame I didn't get more pictures or a video. Kathryn was SOOOO excited and happy. She told him what she wants for Christmas (still a Grinch) and he gave her a candy cane. She got one for Niamh as well, which I ate, so maybe she'll have peppermint milk. Niamh was adorable, and slept through the whole thing, which now that I think about it, is probably for the best...

K8 upd8

Kathryn is a wonderful and loving big sister. I think some of the novelty of having a baby around has worn off for her, so there's a lot less poking and prodding, and she loves being my helper. She'll fetch things for me, throw away dirty diapers, and every time Niamh cries, Kathryn tries to comfort her. She is good about gently giving her a paci, and when she sings Twinkle Twinkle, it is like magic for calming Niamh, and she takes great pride in that.

Tinker Kate (with a little help from Grandma and Bops of course)
Her newest thing is the Grinch. Here's a little fan fiction.

She's never met anyone by the name, so I shouldn't be surprised.

One month old

Our photographer friend Kim took these beautiful pictures... more to come later...

Niamh's one month check up went great! Dr. Moore doesn't believe me that she smiles at us, but even if it's not "real", it is the cutest thing ever. She weighs 9 pounds, 1 ounce (46th percentile) and is 21 1/4 inches long (58th percentile). We are still figuring out the nursing, but there's hope. I am getting help from lactation consultants, and she did great the last time we went in, so hopefully soon we won't have to triple feed (nurse, bottle, pump) anymore. Having been through it with Kathryn already, I know everything will work out, so I'm not worried. Just exhausted. I'm so sleepy, I asked Rob just now what I should write about her because I cannot possibly do her justice in my state.

"Loveable
Cute
Wonderful
I think we'll keep her."

Yep, yep, yep and yep.

Christmas a year ago...
