Congratulations Eric and Amy on the birth of Calvin James! He is such a handsome little guy and we welcome him with open arms. Here is a celebration of the precious little ones born in our church community so far (shown on their first day or so), blatantly ripped off from Kelly...

Lately we're into:

Belly buttons

Cheese

Taking just a couple of little steps then leaning waaaaaay forward and falling- good thing she's pretty tough :)

Giving kisses

Shoulder rides

Taking naps (resistance was futile, though you can tell she did try)

Making messes (you asked for that one Unkie Johnny!)

No, she did not eat any Pop Rocks.
Why do all the pictures with Jonathan in them seem to require disclaimers?

Musical instruments of any kind

Stashing binkies under her crib

Looking up to Mommy

Being tutu cute

Save the date

Kathryn's birthday party will be on Saturday, March 15th from 1:00-3:00. I will mail details out (obviously not on here) to you individually next month, but go ahead and put it on the calendar. I can't believe she'll be a year old so soon!

Tiny Dancer

She didn't know I was watching her dance (or conduct, if you ask Rob). Her favorite dance for me to do is anything from A Charlie Brown Christmas. She just cracks up!!! I'm sure it's not because I look ridiculous...

ROCK. ON.

For Rob's (and Kel's!!!) 30th birthday, we had a Rock Band (Play Station game) party.

Did we rock harder than any 30-year-olds have ever rocked before?!?

I'm guessing not, but we did give it the old college try...

Rob's on drums and b-day girl Kel is rockin' the mic (middle)...

Something's missing, but not for long...

9 Month Check-Up

We went for Kathryn's 9 month check-up last week and she's doing just fine. She is in the 50th percentile for height and the 40th for weight at 18 lbs., 9 oz. Our doctor is happy, so I'm happy! He came in and greeted her and she said "hi". We were both a little taken back. She also surprised us when he asked "does she play patty-cake?" and she started clapping. She has been cruising for a while, and is now working on walking. She's taken a few awkward steps on her own! I think it will still be a while before she gets the hang of it though, which is good because she is already too fast for me just crawling. Today she was about two seconds from chowing down on wet cat food- that's how fast she is. (Mom-1 Kate-0, so far today) She got her first little boo boo this week, and she really had to work for it. We have corner guards on our hearth, and with me sitting right next to her, she took off the corner guard, then proceeded to scrape her chin in half a millisecond. I saw the whole thing and still have no idea how she managed to do it.

Here she is cruising along aforementioned hearth a few weeks ago, stopping to admire the baby in the mirror of course:

Well, that's it for now... nine month olds don't leave much time for blogging!
