Amaryllis

Kathryn is really into science and among her ten or so favorite subjects is plant life. She planted an amaryllis bulb, and I suggested she keep a log of its growth. We documented a lot of the process with  more photos that somehow ended up missing. She measured using a 12" ruler at first, and as you can see, she had to switch to a tape measure within just over a week of starting the log. At first I guided a lot (you can tell from the writing) and then she took off with it on her own.
There was much excitement!

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

I was clipping coupons when Neevie sat down on the chair next to me. She took a receipt and turned it into a neck scarf. I thought it was cute, so I grabbed the camera. Then she transformed it into other things, narrating along the way. I could hardly keep up; she was really fast.
Are you getting this, Mom? Prepare to be amazed.
headband
sweatband
headscarf
 choker
V
diamond
worms
drum sticks
butterfly
As you can see, the receipt had about had it by this point, but she still played.
I just love her creativity and try my best to stay out of the way.

We got the cousins together at Great Grandma's for a visit with Karlee.
We tried to get a photo of them together, but they were less than thrilled with the idea.
You might even say they were becoming crabby.
But then...
tea parties!!!
